Day 47/93

HOLIDAY SPECIAL!
Today was a day of travel! After getting up horrifically early I drove down to Heathrow, in an almost uneventful journey. When we got to heathrow, someone in a white SUV tried to ram me off the road :( and then the signs and road markings lied, so we had to do a loop of the airport. Oopsie!
Everyone was at the airport on time \o/ and we quickly got through security and had time to wolf down a quick cooked breakfast before a nice simple flight.

Sam didn't get change at the Grenoble airport snack bar, making for a very expensive hotdog for lunch :(
Then a coach journey into the hills!
Finally got to the resort about 3, which was early enough to eat some cake (provided by our lovely chef Dean, nip to town for some beers and enjoy the hot tub before the 3 course Dinner :)

Goats Cheese salad starter:

Poop with a view! (the view from the bathroom)
 Dining room (with added Ben)

Day 46/93

A Wild Lucy appeared in London, so we went for some cocktails and drinks, before heading back to meet Ben and Sam. After promising Sam Hoisin duck pizza we had a failed attempt to go to The Bell for it, (It was a bit late by now), so we went to the nearby Italian instead :)

Day 45/93

Today I picked up Emma's present :D

Day 44/93

A day of packing! Gots to get ready for running off skiing! YOU KNOW NOTHING JOHN SNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Day 43/93

Out with the work folks tonight! Out to one pub which was a bit busy, to one which was a bit nicer, then out for dinner at Meat Liquor. They do tasty, tasty, dirty food. Burgers and Chicken Wings and Fries and onion rings aand OMNOMNOM. I may have accidentally agreed to do the triple chilli challenge next time I’m there (A burger, hot dog and fries in 10 minutes). Oops.

Day 42/93

After all the excitement of the weekend I zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZzz

Day 41/93

I met up with Dave and Sarah after work today and pottered over to the Caffé Concerto right next to your office :) Ate some nommy food, and drank some tasty drink! Had a bit of a faff with the tastecard after the meal though! Ooops. (Their website was terribad, but we won in the end \o/!)

Day 40/93

Today I learned that I suck so hard at climbing! Went down to the wall with Ben and climbed some 4s and a couples of 5s. I need to get back into practice! Then we baked a tasty tasty vegan upside down syrup cake and watched the World’s End :) I ate too much cake. So much cake. Nom :D

Then I drove home, and didn’t die \o/ Yay!

Day 39/93

Allllll the cycle :D Coventry -> Stratford upon Avon and back with a Ruth. We managed to pick a gorgeous day for it, beautiful and sunny. Was impressed that the ride didn’t kill Ruth too hard, especially given her bike decided that it would change to harder gears the moment she tried to go uphill. Nommy roll for lunch in Stratford and then pottered home :) Managed to learn from last time and not get the surf turf and cluck!

Then for the evening met up with my peeps on campus for a good chatski and noms and drinks. (Long day of cycling makes Arran a lightweight!)

Day 38/93

Today I drove to Cov! and didn’t die \o/ Yay! Then we ate chinese food ~noodley~noodley~noodley~ :D

Day 37/93

Today I packed things ready for the trip up to Cov, apparently I have no idea how to travel light! Bike all set in the car and bags packed and ready for when I get back from work tomorrow :)

Day 36/93

“Everything is awesome! Everything is cool when you're part of a team…”
Went to go see the Lego Movie with Kinjal today at the Park Royal cinema. Good fun, I think Kinjal may have been adored the movie than I did though :P

Day 35/93

Today I made the foolish decision to go dancing after work. Turns out that a commute, a day at work, another commute driving to dancing and back again is absolutely knackering! Throw Dancing into that and you have one dead Arran!

Day 34/93

After my plans for the week all got cancelled I decided that emergency pub was required, so headed to Pizza Hut and Wetherspoons with Vicki, Kat and Matt to keep myself entertained. The conversation quickly took a turn for the worst, and before we knew it we started a group facebook chat with Emily, Karl, Dan and Kinjal to share pictures and lustful comments about the Minions from Despicable Me. I’m only mildly terribad, ‘onest!

Day 33/93

2nd day of Parentland had a nice chilled start involving homemade apple-turnover of doom the size of my face for breakfast. Then because of the organised family that I’m from, we all headed to the supermarket to get my mum birthday cake + card + look at presents… not that it was the motherships birthiversary that day, or anything… oops!
After a nice roast and a slice of cake, I headed off to try and make the most of the daylight on the way back, but popped in on Ben and Sara in Emsworth, for a quick catch up and a tour around Ben’s studio! His house is so pretty, and his office is pretty ace, time for me to work out how to start a business :P

Day 32/93

Went down to visit the parents today. First long drive, somewhat terrifying!! Made it down safe and sound though, we had a game of Carcasonne and then we pottered out to Prezzo for dinner. Nommy starters and tasty pizza for me :D
How I worried the drive would go:

Day 31/93

I had a chat with my sweetie. I missed her more so than usual because today was valentines day! An entire year since I set your whisk on fire!

Day 30/93

Went to the Metropolitan with Kinjal, Dan, Vicki, Emily and Karl. Vicki went via Cinnabun on the way and got us each one. So delicious! So sticky!

Day 29/93

Went round to Nick's for dinner north london way. We had falafel and pita and houmous and couscous salad. Nomnomnom!
Then we had dime cake for desert, crazy frozen nommyness!

So Almondy!!

Day 28/93

Another quiet day of recovery from a busy weekend!
Have a kitten for real this time:

Fooled you again, don't you even know what a kitten looks like?

Day 27/93

Nothing of interest happened this day :(
Have of kitten:

I lied, it's an elephant, duh!

Food Festival

On Friday, after work, I hit Perth's food festival. The courtyard was a mix of cultures, each smell fighting for dominance.  Mexican won!  One very tastey burrito set me up for an evening of exploration....
Found these cool statues, there were 5 in total all walking into the bank.  It showed business men through the years.

This building the the tax office, such a boring building until night comes!

Sup

I was so thirsty on the way home from dancing tonight that I stopped at a garage and bought a massive bottle of coke.  I then proceeded to drink the whole thing.  Remembering to drink here is a pain!

Pancake Tuesday

First time I've used pancake mix, never again!  Can't wait for Arran pancakes when I get home. :)

Finn!

This is how much knitting I get done in a 4 hour car journey.  You should drive to the Lakes. :)

Wine and beer here I come.

Next day we headed to the mouth of Margaret River, I hoped to get a little swim in but the sea was too rough.  They had large, dangerous rips in this part of the beach so instead we walked up the side of the river.

We the hit the wineries and breweries.  I tried a really nice Cabernet Savingon (the bottle may make it home...).  I then had a lovely coconut hefferwiezen. mmm.  Being a German beer I accidently ordered in German, whoops.

Beer tasting in Cheeky Monkey

To Margaret River!!!

Kylie and Martin invited me to Denmark with them for the weekend.  I took up the offer only to be called back a hour later.  The accommodation in Demark had been double booked and so we had no accommodation!  My bad luck strikes again....  Kylie did some ringing around and found accommodation in Margaret River instead.  To the wine!!!!

We stopped at Busselton Beach for some lunch on the way down.  I had a Mango beer and salmon and goats cheese tart, mmmm.  The Beach had clear blue water and beautiful white sand. I could have stayed there all day but I had to head off to Margaret River.

We then headed out to Cape Leeuwin at Augusta.  It's were the Southern and Indian Ocean meet. Very pretty.  We stopped by an old lighthouse and learnt all about the people that used to live there.  We learnt about the cool weather station that was at the site.

While pottering around we saw a snake (my first live one...)  people were gawking at it.  All the Australian's said "best not to bother that one".  So blasĂ©.

I then found PIRATE COW!!!

Kylie walking up to Leewin Lighthouse, watch out for the ghosts, wooooooo.

Only 5500km from the south pole....

Southern and Indian oceans meeting.

Yarn bombing and cancelled flights

After work I rushed home and got all my stuff together for Melbourne.  I got the train into Perth so I could potter around before getting the airport bus.  I had a few hours to kill and found some ace yarn bombing!  I'm pretty sure this was done by one the the ladies in my knitting club. :)

I got my dinner in domes at the airport, pretty kick ass chicken parmy.
After a fun evening I arrived at the airport, ready for my flight, then BOOM! My flight was cancelled. :(  No melbourne for me. Sad Emma.

Adventure time!

First day working the late shift in work.  I spent the morning knitting and watching Adventure time. :)

Dance Class!

Learning Ceroc tonight.  Lots of really good dancers too. :)

Cycle around King's Park

Today after work I decided to explore Kings Park on my bike.  It took about an hour to cycle around it.
Purdy view of perth CBD

King's park is full of trails that take you through Australian bush but in the middle there was a beautiful pond to sit by. :)

Smiley

Thought I would start the week off with a smile.
